get the best of the natural light, grey and rainy days being better for bw pictures.

and if rain comes? well , use it !!!!

nicolas, I love the way you've caught the light in people's eyes, it does make them look so alive, and with the help of the black-and-white background, they look really nice.

I prefer black-and-white portrait photography and none of that photoshop bull. Most of my photography friends operate with really nice equipment and I myself have a semi-professional quite old camera, which is technically my parents', but it makes really a difference. I also prefer if people don't pose or at least if they seem like they're not posing, makes it more real.

the last picture was in my garden, the black background being some plants in the shadow ;)

That's a great portrait Nicolas, which lens was it? An f1.2 or macro or tilt-shift to get that thin DOF? Your portrait photography has always been one of my favorites, especially the B&Ws. But all time favorite is still: Reveil difficile Rockstar. That's a priceless expression you have.

the last one was taken using the 85mm f1,2 L at 1,2 ;)
