Hmmm plans for the New Year?
- Finally narrow down what I want from my upgrade. New lenses and body from Canon or a new system entirely?
- Apply for a photography degree (distance learning one from the OCA) unless I can find a more appropriate one.
- Get more experience in the studio, be it under guidance or on my own.
- Find a Pro photographer to take me under their wing and mentor me! (Not gonna hold my breath on that one!)
- Build on portfolio
- Learn, learn, learn and learn!
- Try and produce enough quality shots to get published in a Mag.

Oh and work in-between all of that so that I can fund it. Thank god I only work 6 months a year!!!!

That's a good list and I reckon you'll achieve lots on it! Finding a pro to take you on is not impossible. It's just a case of persistence (remeber they are busy people so it's going to take more than one email / phone call). You need to make sure you strike up a good rapport with that person if you plan to spend a lot of time in their company ....oh and expect to work for nothing! At least for the first few jobs until you have proven your worth to them.

Thanks for the optimism Rosie :) Working for them for nothing isn't an issue so long as they don't mind the fact that I have to disappear a month at a time for my day job, I do generally get the following month off during which Im available though.

Anyone thinking about signing up to a training course? Perfecting a new technique or trying their hand a new genre? Or even starting a new business? Let us know what you plan to get out of next year... :D

I aim to improve the studio I work in at Miinto.dk even more! We're testing new setups at the moment, and this is actually great fun and very nice knowledge for me! :) We have mostly been doing indoor shoots at the studio, but this year we're gonna move much more outside to do shoots for the site.

And when im not at work, Im still thinking of doing alot more HDR (mainly in Sweden), due to some already planned trips.

Some interesting ideas from you guys. For me, I'm hoping to get a prime lens like the Nikon 50mm 1.8D AF. Possibly a couple of speedlights too. I would love to work for a magazine or supply regular images for sale. I will look further into that and see if anything works out for me. Good luck with all your plans.

I read somewhere that if you want to take better photos then stand in front of more interesting stuff... so that's what I intend to do in 2012

I'm gonna leave the European continent for the first time in my life in November.
I'll be traveling the US for the whole month, from the east to the west. I'm planning on doing some beautiful nature shots in the different national parks. Maybe I will print some leaflets of my work afterwards to get a feedback from others. SOOO excited!
A light wind swept over the corn, and all nature laughed in the sunshine.
