I dropped my first D90 with a Sigma 18-55 lens onto hard granite pavement from my bike while avoiding a bus once, I'm sure I know how this photographer felt when it happened to him. It was fortunate not to get run over by the bus and was still working fine.

Nikon: Quality at its best. I'm sure Canon has the same quality as well after reading an article about photographer Karl Grobl who dropped his Canon 1D + 70-200 lens off an elephant ride in India.

NIKON and CANON .... those are the KINGs.

And still I cant choose my favourite. So I choose both. And still EOS 1 film camera from canon is most preferred camera from the National Geographic magazine, it is most resistant on moister, dust, and hitting the ground when falling from some elephant hehehe

I managed to drop a D700 with an 18-35 nikkor on the front. The lens ended up in two pieces and was rebuilt by the local Nikon dealer. The camera never batted an eyelid and that was 55000 frames ago. Who needs the elephant!

Man shooting in that kind of weather must be pretty fun

And as this thread wasn't a discussion about whether this model or that model is better or is this camera good, I don't consider this thread to become 'old' and 'obsolete'. If anyone has stories or images of Nikon (and yes Canon, I will be considerate to those who use it ) taking on the 'extreme' they are free to share on this thread.

I only hope it was a broken lens or some plastic replica instead of an actual working Canon lens that they 'hammered' out.

While photographing a foot race that had a little mud pit, I decided to go big, or go home! I set up on the corner of the pit, and stuck it out the whole time. afterwards, I think I was photographed just as much as the runners. Believe it or not, after a little TLC the camera now looks brand new, what can I say, its a Nikon.

I was about to start a new thread about this Aung. Horrible to watch, but incredible that it still works afterwards. The new breed of pro-built cameras are getting better and better.

You going to put the new D4 through the same tests then Aung?
