Hi Troy, thank you for your comment.
You are asking me two incredible questions! Here's my answer: I see you are 23 years old, which means that I had published work 20 years before you were even born! I have constantly been behind the lens for 4 decades! I studied Photography in New York City, USA, early 70's, where I worked for many years, both as a studio advertising photographer, as well as a press photographer. I don't mean to blow my own horn, but I have so much published work that you need a truck to carry it all! Although my place has always been behind the camera, occasionally, there are times that I get in front of it, when the need arises (as in the photo with the dancers, which I explained to you the reason why, earlier on in the April Forum Challenge on page 3, and for the April Forum Challenge, especially with the theme "Self Portrait").
Chances are that I may have a "fare well to arms" next year (when I will retire, perhaps), then at long last, I'll be able to photograph for myself only, without having to follow graphic designers' layouts or instructions from magazine editors etc.etc. etc.
I hope this answers your question!
See my flickr photostream where I have some of my personal work (unfortunately copyright forbids me from including my professional work that I am very proud of, not to mention that the bulk of my work is from the analog era and was shot on sheet film or 6 x 6cm slides etc which I never got around to convert into digital form).
