These photos need geotagging data so I can see what part of Greece they were taken, another item to the list of places I need to visit. :D I love mountain vistas, unfortunately I don't have a car nor do I drive so I have to take buses and trains which often do not go to the more isolated beautiful parts of the Alps or the Jura.

Thank you ALwin!
I also want to take the opportunity to thank you in the Forum for your help (via exchanging with me several private messages), on Monday, April 25th, 2011, to create a link to my flickr Photostream.
I would appreciate it if you could help me again by giving me some instructions how to geotag the places where I have taken these photos, which you say you would like to visit yourself. (Like I told you in one of my messages I am an old timer photographer, not very familiar with this incredible new technology, that all you young bucks are so familiar with!).
Thanks in advance,
Thanassis

Hi again ALwin,
Fortunately my English wife Theresa drives, while I take photos!!! Maybe we can arrange a photographic trip in Greece in the future all together!

Some good photos and great locations Thanassis.

But i have to ask, do you ever take photos yourself? Or is the camera just a prop for posing with

Hi Troy, thank you for your comment.
You are asking me two incredible questions! Here's my answer: I see you are 23 years old, which means that I had published work 20 years before you were even born! I have constantly been behind the lens for 4 decades! I studied Photography in New York City, USA, early 70's, where I worked for many years, both as a studio advertising photographer, as well as a press photographer. I don't mean to blow my own horn, but I have so much published work that you need a truck to carry it all! Although my place has always been behind the camera, occasionally, there are times that I get in front of it, when the need arises (as in the photo with the dancers, which I explained to you the reason why, earlier on in the April Forum Challenge on page 3, and for the April Forum Challenge, especially with the theme "Self Portrait").
Chances are that I may have a "fare well to arms" next year (when I will retire, perhaps), then at long last, I'll be able to photograph for myself only, without having to follow graphic designers' layouts or instructions from magazine editors etc.etc. etc.
I hope this answers your question!

See my flickr photostream where I have some of my personal work (unfortunately copyright forbids me from including my professional work that I am very proud of, not to mention that the bulk of my work is from the analog era and was shot on sheet film or 6 x 6cm slides etc which I never got around to convert into digital form).

If you're using Nikon, there's the GP-1 from Nikon or several third party clones on ebay. Unfortunately for Canon, it's an expensive method if you want to write the GPS data into the image file, you'd need the Wireless transmitter attachment + USB GPS.

Fortunately there is another cheap solution which supports many brands: a small GPS device (certain models connect to the camera flash hotshoe and has an electrical connection which gets activated when the shutter is pressed) that stores GPS locations as you move about and can be synced to image files via time stamps later on the computer.

The third and cost free alternative is: Flicker provides an option called "Add photo to your map". Other online photo galleries such as Panoramio offer a similar service where you manually position the arrow on the map and save the location. Panoramio uses Google Maps.

Talking about geotagging and IR photography the other day, I realized I still have a few dozen photos to work on and upload. :( Photos just keep piling up and very little time to work on them *sigh*

PS: I do travel in Switzerland to the Alps and Jura, but as I said the best places are far away from the normal bus and train routes, sometimes when my friends are driving there to hike I join them. And I'm sort of reluctant to take the bus up the Alps again, I once did and for the entire duration both ways (going up and down) I was trying my best to sleep on the bus, didn't want to keep my eyes open, because all I saw looking out the window were a few hundreds meters vertical drop to doom if one road accident happened.
