Ideas for starting video tutorials

Postby SillyEddy on Thu Nov 04, 2010 3:07 pm

So I've been doing photography for a couple of years but I would like to start doing some videos on Youtube on my photography channel. I'd like to cover generalised shoots (holidays and the such, a bit of my life) as well as actual photography tutorials, reviews, Q&A, basics of photography, etc.

So what would make my channel different? Well, I know there are a lot of superb photographers and a lot of tutorials out there. However, I find that a lot of the channels discuss expensive equipment and the latest products... Being a student, I do not have that luxury, so I would like to help to teach people to use basic equipment to achieve good results. Kit lenses, entry level cameras, simple but effective equipment. I'd like to help to show people how to maximise their investments... Which is something I've been having to do ever since I got my DSLR a few years ago.

I'm just wondering if anyone has any advice for me, any feedback from the go, or any suggestions on topics which they would like to see covered.

Cheers.

I think this is a great idea and as you know the DP team have been doing their own video tutorials over the last few months. The best way to start is to keep it simple. Remember most people do not know the basics so start at the beginning and take it from there.

Good luck - be sure to let us know how you get on :D

Hi..video tutorials are best for providing knowledge. If you'll ask people what would they prefer an article or a video tutorial then most of them will prefer video tutorials. After posting some of these videos you can also do seo for that to promote them..there are lots of promotion methods which you can use.So don't worry just start it. :)
