A Different Snowy Shot. by Liz Cooke
My first attempt at abstract .... lol. It was almost total white-out in the fields nearby with the sky the same colour as the snow.

I can see why this shot has garnered so many views - excellent high shot Liz so keep it up. I have to say that I find I concur with Pete and Brian's comments on the site which is such a great shame as it has given a great springboard into the world of photography having picked up many hints and tips as well getting my first gallery published in a magazine (a very big thank you to DP)! I too will keep popping by now and again when I can get out with the camera and, of course, to see how everyone is getting on. -

Beautiful lines Lizzie...I am afraid that Brian is right about the DP site. Much of what he has said is one of the big reasons I no longer partake as I used to. I have many friends from DP though. I will continue to pop on every so often as well. But it has lost its steam. It is the same ole same ole. The DP magazine itself is a great mag however, here in the US it averages 3X more than the typical US magazine. So for now, I park myself on FB...not the best but better than DP. I can be found under Captain Shutter. Keep up the great work! -

I like it a lot Liz, great job. Well this site has finally pushed me past the breaking point, many, many message sent to support regarding the non working elements of this site, NOT A PEEP in reply, I will no longer be posting to this site... that is unfortunate because I feel that I have many friends on this site and will miss their input. I think this site has run it's course, not for the users, more about making a money and advertising. Keep on shooting, bye, Brian. BTW I am a big supporter of 500px.com, where everyone is responsive...and the site works without a thousand hitches and adverts... -

comments ctd-- I like very much your courage and attempts in diversifying the shots and in trying different techniques, different compositions, and settings. This is how we continue to learn and improve. Great stuff and my best wishes for a great weekend. -

I really like this Liz, did something similar with a swan a while ago. I probably would have cloned out the tops of the trees in the distance though for even more minimalism and also cos it looks like it's been cloned in by mistake because of the white-out. Surreal! -

Nicely done Liz, I like it a lot. Rather different here, 36 deg C today! Have great weekend. David -

Liz, looks to cold for me to be out. Great exposure and great minimalist approach to this image. Best regards, Glenn.
