Can anyone please tell me why there are so many Ladybirds about at the moment? The snow has finally ground us to a halt too! Quite surreal - main roads empty of traffic - buses not running - industry wheels ceasing to turn as so many people simply cannot get through the drifts. Whatever happened to Global warming? This 7 month old Malayan Tiger Cub seemed to know it was almost feeding time and was patiently awaiting his meat. Plain and simple - a window of a house in France. I did wonder why the curtain was on the outside though ..... An arm-wrestling match between Good King Henry Vlll and a Courtier during a re-enactment at Hampton Court Palace. Painful - eh? Taken from our bedroom window whilst staying on the Isle of Skye. Looking towards Loch Ainort, with Scalpay to the right. Sorry for my lack of DP recently. Guessing game over - this beauty is an Atlas Moth, the largest moth in the world, growing up to 12 inches across! Found in south east Asia, the caterpillars can grow to 6 inches. In India the cocoons are made into Fagara silk. In Taiwan they are made into purses. A truly fabulous creature but I was glad he wasn't wide awake and flying around! ps: thanks to all who took part ... if there was a prize it would have to go to Andrew W for his elephant guess! Lol. Sunset in Reykjavik harbour. And a slightly different image of the 4th floor of Harpa. The architects consulted with the artist, Olafur Eliasson, to create this stunning concert hall. Hats off to them all. Thought I'd have a bash at mono for a change. Like the rest of the crowd, I was watching the Entertainer perform his Circus Skills act in Covent Garden, London. I decided to try and capture the essence of the moment by crowd watching instead. Taken from the opposite bank of the River Thames, the Historic Royal Tower of London. Many a poor soul spent their last days here. Pure classical elegance with a touch of sunlight! The amazing waterfalls of Gullfoss - complete with rainbow spray. The people add to the scale of things. Just one of many pretty little birds in an aviary in North Wales. Difficult to shoot due to the small-mesh wire surround. A golden view of Beningbrough Hall and Gardens, near York. I just liked the bright colours. I don't normally do portraits but this lady's sparkle was perfect material. She was performing at a 1940s event during the summer. The West Highland Way runs alongside the eastern shores of Loch Lomond. This shot was taken just after the early morning mist had risen. It was so still and calm and serene. Total silence - even the canoeist was motionless. Grey Squirrel
